Lorain County Community College showcased its Students Accelerating in Learning program Dec. 12 at the college’s Norton Culinary Arts Center, 1005 Abbe Road.
The program, launched in 2015, financially assists college students, making it easier to graduate.
Students Accelerating in Learning, also known as SAIL, was modeled after the Accelerated Study in Associate Programs, also known as ASAP, by the City University of New York and provided aid for selected full time students including enhanced advising, block-scheduled first-year courses, cohort course-taking, tutoring, career services, a tuition gap waiver that covers any need between a student’s financial aid and tuition and fees, MetroCards and textbook assistance, according to a news release from the Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation.
