New students attending Gateway Community and Technical College are eligible to receive free tuition this spring.
The scholarship is available for first-time students at the college, or returning students who have taken at least one year off from attending classes. The deadline to apply is Nov. 15, officials said.
Colleges and universities across the region are working independently and together on new ways to promote equity in higher education and offer opportunities to underserved communities, especially considering the financial barriers exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
