Maryland's Howard Community College Program Assists Immigrant Students With Jobs

Maryland's college-educated immigrant population grew by 21% from 2010 to 2019, but because of systemic barriers, most of them remain unemployed or underemployed.

But a program at Howard Community College is aimed at changing that and they want to get the word out that they can help others on National Immigrants Day.

Andrea Ferguson came to the United States three years ago from Indonesia when she got married. She's been working at M&T Bank for nearly a year now.

"When you start your career in the United States, you'll learn more information to thrive in this country," Ferguson said.
