A months-long legal dispute over student pay, retirement funds and government authority is shining a spotlight on a rural community college in Southwest Michigan’s Cass County.
Southwestern Michigan College, a community college in Dowagiac, sued the state of Michigan’s Office of the Auditor General over an investigation into the college’s contribution to a state-run teacher retirement fund.
