In the uncertain wake of President Donald Trump’s decision to taper off support for immigrant students, local community colleges have openly — and officially — pledged to pick up the slack.
Both Yuba Community College District and Woodland Community College have bolstered efforts to support students who were brought into the country illegally as children. Those children then relied on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, an Obama-era program that guaranteed immigrant children an American education.
