Several central New York prisons are among 17 across the state that will receive investments in college-level education and reentry services through colleges and universities over the next five years, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office announced Monday.
The $7.3 million College-in-Prison Reentry Program is being funded through a Manhattan district attorney’s Criminal Justice Investment Initiative, and will create more than 2,500 seats for college-level education and training for incarcerated New Yorkers across the state.
