Automatically reenrolling students at Odessa College has made a big difference in keeping students in school, even when the economy is doing OK, Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness Don Wood said.
Typically, community colleges gain students when the economy is down and loses them when it gains steam again.
Wood said there are two aspects to college attendance – enrollment which says how many students the college has and the other is persistence – having students stay in school semester to semester.
