ALAMEDA — Graduating high school seniors in Alameda now have an opportunity to attend community college tuition-free for one year.
The College of Alameda program, which was developed with help from the Alameda Unified School District, is also providing students with a $250 voucher for textbooks, as well as counseling and academic support to assist them transition to college.
Tim Karas, the college president, called the “college promise campaign” initiative a bridge for students.
