Piedmont Virginia Community College is taking its welding classes on the road.
PVCC will share a mobile welding classroom with Germanna and Central Virginia community colleges, whose main campuses are in Fredericksburg and Lynchburg, respectively. The classroom will be equipped with six fully functional welding stations, and students will have the opportunity to gain career certifications.
The classrooms will have the latest equipment and be “100 percent” as functional as brick-and-mortar facilities, said Steve Brownell, a welding instructor who teaches part-time with PVCC.
