Calhoun Community College formally dedicated its new Math, Science and Computer Science Building on Thursday at the Huntsville campus off Wynn Drive.
The three-story, 90,000 square foot building has been open for classes since Aug. 22. The $32 million building houses faculty offices, collaborative work spaces, and classrooms. It also contains a wide range of labs for students studying chemistry, physics, anatomy/physiology, and microbiology, according to Calhoun.
The basement also serves as a tornado shelter, with room for more than 1,000 people.
