Western Wyoming Community College has appointed Dr. Kimberly Dale as its next president. Dale will succeed Dr. Karla Leach, who announced her retirement last year.
The community college’s Presidential Search Advisory Committee began the search with a pool of 54 applicants, consisting of community members and previous and current college personnel, according to RocketMiner.com.
The committee narrowed the list of applicants down to 10 candidates, who were then recommended to the board of trustees for further consideration. The board then selected three candidates who were invited to the campus and community for meet-and-greet interviews with interested students, faculty and staff and community members.
With assistance from the Association of Community College Trustees, the board determined that Dale would be the best pick to lead the college and college community.
Currently, Dale serves as executive vice president at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff. Prior to that role, she served as dean of instruction at the Fort Collins and Westminster, Colorado campuses of Front Range Community College.
Dale has 15 years of experience working in progressive multi-campus leadership positions, and has also served a faculty member at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado.
“I wish to thank all members of the President Search Advisory Committee, and all campus personnel, who helped the board bring this search to a successful conclusion,” said Western Wyoming board president George Eckman said. “I hope all will join me in welcoming Dr. Dale to our college on July 1, and will join with me in assisting and guiding her in her understanding of our college and its mission for the future.”
Dale received a bachelor’s degree in business education at Metropolitan State College, a master’s degree in management and organization at the University of Colorado in Denver and a Ph.D. in educational leadership and human resource studies at Colorado State University.
