With the release of Gov. Jerry Brown’s revised budget proposal, faculty in the California Community Colleges system are concerned. The broadest goals of Gov. Brown’s proposed changes to the funding formula are noble and supported by the faculty who work every day with students and witness firsthand their challenges.
Faculty applaud thoughtful and effective efforts to improve students’ economic mobility through the attainment of a degree or certificate and to increase the academic success of students who may be socio-economically disadvantaged or trail behind their peers in academic success.
