Southwest Tennessee Community College received $2.1 million to improve student success, while closing achievement gaps between white students and students of color.
The college is one of 64 institutions of higher education to receive a federal Title III grant through the Strengthening Institutions Program. Southwest hopes to improve course success and retention and graduation rates for its more than 8,000 students with the grant, which will be distributed over five years.
