As the economy has improved, more students are completing college in six years nationally, which a nonprofit education data group has in part attributed to slowed enrollment growth at higher education institutions.
The National Student Clearinghouse, which plans to release state-specific data early next year, said in a report released Monday that 54.8 percent of students completed college in six years, 1.9 percentage points higher than those who began college in fall 2009.
